Does any fan work on the heat-sink for Compaq computers?

Recently my fan on the heat-sink doesn’t work, so i can not turn on my computer. Does any fan that is the right size for the heat-sink would work?

Heatsink (termology) the transfer of heat from one media to another, fan runs on power, turning on the Pc and dont work, may be due to:-
1. Is the supply on?
2. Power pack?

Goto the basics before you go to the details…..
Check your pc requirement, size of the fan, etc…….
